As Principal with Kevil & Kevil, Jonathan specializes in helping uncover favorable tax opportunities for our businesses nationwide. Through the use of Cost Segregation Studies, uncovering 179DEPAct and 45L energy efficiency tax deductions, utilizing R&D tax credits, and more, Jonathan is highly regarded for his ability to advocate for his clients while driving opportunities for continued growth and sustainability.
Beginning his career in 2006, Jonathan was brought on to Kevil & Kevil to lend his expertise with renowned cost segregation firms on the West Coast. An active member of the Oregon SW WA CCIM Chapter Power for more than a decade where he has served as co-chair of the organization's membership committee and is a regular presenter, Jonathan is also actively involved in the WA CCIM Chapter, CREW Seattle, the WA Chapter of NAIOP, Belden Club of Seattle, Kitsap Commercial Investment Brokers (KCIB) and the Washington Policy Center (WPC). Additionally, Jonathan is a supporter of the RYTHER nonprofit organization where he is passionate about their mission of "Where Kids Find Healing & Hope" as well as the Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC), which works to end homelessness of vulnerable people, particularly those living with serious mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and/or chronic health conditions.
Jonathan earned his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Washington and is a third-generation native of Seattle, Washington.

I was inspired to join Kevil & Kevil because they are a 2nd Generation Cost Seg Provider Family with broad acumen in expertise in Tax Centric Engineered based Professional Services.
What is your favorite aspect of your job?
Knowing that I've gained the client's trust and confidence after providing them with exemplary service.
What's your work style?
What "bright idea" do you find yourself sharing over and over again?
If a client is over 60 years old and are long-time holders of commercial real estate, they need to make conducting a cost segregation study their biggest priority. If this doesn't happen, when they pass, a step-up basis will have to take place and you'll have to start the entire process over again.
What do you consider to be your best quality?
I never give up and I'm incredibly loyal.
What gets you out of bed every day?
A burning desire to serve our clients.
What was your first job?
Working for my family's grocery store at the age of five.
